Q: Why should I consider Sierra Vista?
A: If you are looking for an outdoor setting for your wedding, Sierra Vista offers something that no other venue has. A breathtaking “one of a kind” panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the famous Peaks of Otter.
Q: Do you offer pre-ceremony accommodations for the bridal party to get ready in?
A: Yes, absolutely! The Bridal Suite is located in the Mountain Lodge home. The bride and her maids will enjoy a beautiful blending of rustic and elegant with the use of stone, wood and comfortable formal decor. The Cabin in the Woods is the perfect spot for the gentlemen to prepare. Recently built out of all natural materials featuring granite, cypress, western red cedar, fir, reclaimed flooring and soapstone, this structure has the “old time” feel of a 19th century Virginia cabin.
Q: Do you provide chairs and tables for the ceremony and reception in the barn?
A: Yes, we do! We can easily accommodate up to 150 guests. We take care of the set up, tear down and removal of trash. We do ask that all decor that is brought in be removed in the hour following their event.
Q: Do you include restrooms?
A: Yes! We have beautiful, high end, handicapped compliant, running water restrooms.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: In the event of inclement weather we are able to easily move your ceremony into the barn! The Barn is an absolutely gorgeous “plan B”. We also allow the bride and groom to return to get their pictures with the mountain view.
Q: Are there any additional costs?
A: Yes. Each client is responsible for purchasing a one day special event policy which names Sierra Vista as additional insured. This protects both parties involved. Please ask for details.
Q: What about music?
A: All amplified music must be within the confines of the barn and meet all county ordinance requirements. Any amplified music during the outdoor ceremony must be pre-approved.
Q: How late can my reception go?
A: All receptions must end by 10pm.
Q: Can Sierra Vista be used for events other than weddings?
A: Yes! We would love to host your school reunion, corporate event, baby shower, bridal shower or picnic at Sierra Vista on a weekday.
